DPDP Act Notice
This notice is issued by Dharmartha in accordance with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). It explains how we collect, process and protect your digital personal data, and the rights available to you as a Data Principal.
Data Fiduciary
Dharmartha acts as the Data Fiduciary for the personal data you share with us. We determine the purpose and means of processing your data in line with this notice and our Privacy Policy.
Personal data we process
We may process your name, email address, account preferences, birth details you voluntarily provide for personalised panchangam/jyotish features, booking and consultation details, and basic usage information needed to run the platform.
Purpose & lawful basis
Your data is processed on the basis of the consent you provide and for the legitimate uses permitted under the DPDP Act — to create and operate your account, deliver the services you request, personalise features you opt into, and comply with applicable law. We ask for your clear consent at the point of sign-up.
Your rights as a Data Principal
Under the DPDP Act you have the right to: access a summary of your personal data and how it is processed; seek correction, completion, updating or erasure of your data; nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity; and grievance redressal.
Withdrawing consent
You may withdraw your consent at any time, as easily as it was given. On withdrawal we will cease processing your data unless retention is required by law. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
Data retention & security
We retain personal data only for as long as needed for the stated purposes or as required by law, and we apply reasonable security safeguards to protect it against unauthorised access or disclosure.
Children's data
We do not knowingly process the personal data of children without verifiable consent of a parent or lawful guardian, and we do not undertake tracking or targeted advertising directed at children.
Grievance redressal
To exercise your rights, withdraw consent, or raise a grievance regarding your personal data, please reach us through the Contact page. We will respond within the timelines prescribed under the DPDP Act. If unsatisfied, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
