Atman
The innermost Self
Atman is the true Self — pure consciousness — beyond body, mind and ego.
The Upanishads point to Atman as the changeless witness within all beings, distinct from the body-mind. The great enquiry 'Who am I?' culminates in knowing the Atman, which the Vedanta relates to Brahman.
