Worship of the five forms
The Smarta tradition honours five deities (panchayatana) as forms of the one Brahman.
Following the smriti and Shankara's Advaita, the Smarta panchayatana-puja worships Shiva, Vishnu, Devi, Ganesha and Surya together, seeing all as expressions of the single reality.
