Yajnavalkya Smriti
A concise, influential Dharmashastra
A smriti admired for its systematic and comparatively liberal treatment of dharma.
Attributed to the sage Yajnavalkya, this smriti concisely organises achara (conduct), vyavahara (law) and prayashchitta (expiation), and became especially influential through its later commentary, the Mitakshara.
