The 32 Forms of Ganapati

बत्तीस गणपति

The thirty-two divine forms of Ganapati enumerated in the Śrītattvanidhi and the Gāṇapatya tradition.

These thirty-two forms of Ganapati are set down — each with its own dhyāna (meditation verse) — in the Śrītattvanidhi, the great iconographic compendium compiled by Mahārāja Kṛṣṇarāja Wodeyar III of Mysore, and they resonate with the Gāṇapatya tradition of the Mudgala Purāṇa. Each form has a distinct complexion, number of arms, attributes and boon — devotees take refuge in the form that matches their need and disposition.

In a forthcoming update we will align these forms with Jyotiṣa and the Panchāṅga — recommending the fitting Ganapati form by planet, nakshatra and purpose.
