The twelve Jyotirlingas are the most sacred shrines of Shiva across Bharat.
From Somnath in Gujarat to Ghushmeshwar in Maharashtra, the twelve Jyotirlingas ('lingas of light') are believed to be self-manifest forms of Shiva. Their remembrance is enshrined in the Dwadasha Jyotirlinga Stotram.
