यजुर्वेद
Yajurveda
The Veda of ritual formulae (yajus)
The Yajurveda supplies the prose formulae and procedures for the performance of yajna.
The Yajurveda provides the yajus — the sacrificial formulae chanted by the Adhvaryu priest as the rites are performed. It survives in two streams, the Shukla (White, Vajasaneyi) and the Krishna (Black, Taittiriya) recensions. The Shukla Yajurveda closes with the Ishavasya Upanishad; the tradition also preserves the Rudram (Namakam-Chamakam) and Mantra Pushpam.
Two recensions
Shukla (White) and Krishna (Black).
